City meter readers

Our meter readers can submit your meter reading for you. They visit your premises once a month, or at least once every three months, and are easily recognisable by their uniform and official City of Cape Town identification.

If the meter reader cannot safely access the meter, your bill will reflect an estimated amount based on your average monthly usage.

Submit a meter reading yourself

You can submit a meter reading via our e-Services portal or you can call us on 0860 103 089, send a fax to 0860 103 090 or email accounts@capetown.gov.za.
